The celebration of Buddha’s birthday normally consisted of ceremonial offering of flowers, candles, and fruits, chanting and praying The “Bathing the Baby Buddha Ceremony” is an ancient tradition dating back over two millennia. According to various stories found in the Buddhist scriptures, the newborn Buddha was bathed in a fragrant, heavenly water. The early Buddhist temples in India reenacted the event to commemorate Buddha’s birthday. Due to the worldwide instability this year, Vancouver Yuan Yung Buddhism Centre Society would like to invite everyone to this special ceremony and pray for world peace.
